Gamba Youth have discovered their schedule for the 2013 Premier League.
The league is split into two divisions, each containing ten clubs. The clubs will play each other twice over the course of the season and the winners of the two divisions will face each other to decide the overall champion in December.
This will be Gamba’s first season in the new-look league, which began in 2011, due to being in the second tier of the old regional leagues when the new national league was introduced and then narrowly missing out on promotion to Vissel Kobe in 2011. They finally won the Kansai regional league last season and then defeated Albirex Niigata to gain promotion to the top tier.
Gamba are in the West division along with the likes of Cerezo Osaka, Vissel Kobe, Kyoto Sanga, Nagoya Grampus and reigning champions Sanfrecce Hiroshima. The league kicks off on April 7 with Gamba hosting Higashi Fukuoka Senior High School and will end on December 8.
The two mini Osaka derbies will take place on July 7 and November 30. The full list of fixtures can now be viewed on the academy page. We’ll keep you updated on Gamba’s progress throughout the season.
