Lee Seung-Yeoul may make a return to Banpaku next season to resume his Gamba career.
The South Korean striker suffered a torrid few months at the club at the start of the season following his move from FC Seoul, failing to find the net once in his 11 appearances – massive disappointment considering that the club paid a reported €1.49 million (approx. ¥150 million, £1.25 million, US$2 million) to acquire his services. He returned home on loan to Ulsan Hyundai in July and went on to help the club win the Champions League.
Reports in Korea are now suggesting that he may be given another chance to prove himself at the club. Perhaps a fresh start under a new manager in J2 and will be just what he needs to live up to his price tag. Let’s hope so for his and Gamba’s sakes!
